About the Role

We are looking for a graduate in Environmental Health (or someone in their final year with a short time to graduation and the ability to work for us when appointed), to work in the Environmental Health and Safer Places team (largely Environmental Protection). You will be investigating domestic and commercial noise complaints, assessing new development proposals for EP related issues and providing advice to planners, leading on a small number of Permitted premises and undertaking a range of other investigations.

Progression to an Environmental Health Officer post, (Grade H), will be subject to a post being available and the successful applicant completing their degree and/or apprenticeship and full CIEH EHP Registration within 24 months of appointment.

An EHO post is being advertised parallel to this post, only one post is available in total, the best candidate from both sets of applications will be offered the relevant post.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

· A degree in Environmental Health or be in the final year

· Knowledge of EP related legislation and its application

· Good IT skills and ability to manage a diverse workload effectively

· Excellent communication skills
