Summary
Head of Operations – Care Homes
Location: National role with regular travel across a portfolio of care homes
Salary: £85,000 + Bonus Structure + Benefits
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing care provider for an experienced Head of Operations to support operational performance, quality, and compliance across a national portfolio of care homes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and people-focused operational leader with strong multi-site experience within elderly care services.

The Role: Operational Leadership
Provide strategic and operational leadership support across multiple care homes
Drive high-quality, person-centred care and operational excellence
Monitor occupancy, staffing, compliance, and financial performance across services
Support underperforming homes with improvement plans and operational guidance
Conduct regular visits to homes nationwide
Lead the implementation of operational policies and best practice initiatives
Quality & Compliance
Ensure services remain compliant with CQC and relevant regulatory standards
Support homes through inspections, audits, and safeguarding processes
Promote a strong culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement
Maintain effective governance and quality assurance processes
Leadership & Development
Coach and develop Regional and Home Managers
Support recruitment and succession planning for senior operational staff
Build high-performing teams and promote collaborative working
Deputise for senior operational leadership when required
Strategic & Commercial Responsibilities
Support business growth and operational integration projects
Identify operational risks and improvement opportunities
Analyse performance data and provide strategic recommendations
Support budget management and commercial performance targets
About You
Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role within the care home sector
Strong multi-site management experience
Excellent understanding of CQC regulations and adult social care standards
Commercially aware with strong financial and operational management skills
Strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management abilities
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
Desirable
NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care or equivalent
Nurse qualification or relevant health/social care qualification
Experience supporting turnaround services or regulatory inspections
