About the role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Deputy Head of Building Services (Reactive Repairs & Voids) to lead the performance, delivery and cost management of our Reactive Repairs and Voids service.
This is a key leadership role, supporting the Head of Building Services and working closely with the Deputy Head of Operations to drive service improvement, ensure compliance and deliver high‑quality, tenant‑focused outcomes. The postholder will deputise for the Head of Building Services when required.

What you will be doing

Lead and manage the Reactive Repairs and Voids service, ensuring high standards of performance, productivity and customer satisfaction
Support the development and delivery of service standards, strategies and performance targets
Provide clear operational and financial reporting, including performance and cost management information for senior management
Ensure services are tenant‑focused, compliant and delivered in line with all statutory, regulatory and organisational requirements
Manage commercial and financial controls, including budgets, cost monitoring, variations, procurement compliance and expenditure approvals
Oversee contractor and subcontractor performance, ensuring all works meet required standards and specifications
Build strong relationships with tenants, internal teams and external partners, ensuring clear communication and accurate records


What we’re looking for

Degree‑level qualification or equivalent experience, ideally within construction, property maintenance or a related discipline
Strong knowledge of housing repairs, health and safety, building regulations and construction legislation
Proven experience of managing budgets, performance and contractors
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
A customer‑focused approach with strong leadership and people management skills

Welsh language skills are desirable.
