SEN Teaching Assistant - IR Unit | Secondary School | South Yorkshire
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support students within Inclusion Resource (IR) Units in secondary schools across South Yorkshire.
This rewarding role involves supporting students with additional learning needs, helping them access education in a supportive and structured environment. The position would suit individuals with experience in SEN settings, teaching assistants looking to expand their skills, or graduates considering a future career in education or SEN support.
- Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs within the IR Unit
- Support students both academically and emotionally
- Assist the class teacher and SENCO with learning activities and interventions
- Help manage behaviour positively and effectively
- Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independence
- Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable
- A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities
