Part Time Variable Hours Tutor of ChemistryHours: Part-time variable Hourly rate: £26.51 (unqualified)* or £27.68 (qualified)* inclusive of holiday pay.Plus, membership of Teachers’ Pension Scheme*the base hourly rate is £17.10 (unqualified) / £17.86 (qualified) per hour, plus payment for holiday and preparation and marking time, which gives an approximate hourly rate of £26.51 (unqualified) / £27.68 (qualified) per hour. About the roleWe require an outstanding Tutor to join our experienced science and chemistry team, to teach Chemistry on our science courses from September 2026. You will join a team of experienced chemists who work in close collaboration with the wider science team. Lessons are delivered in modern and well-resourced chemistry laboratories, supported by specialist chemistry technicians.We can offer you the support to develop your career and the opportunity to teach on a wide range of popular and successful chemistry courses. The majority of our courses are for students aged 16 -19 years old, with additional programmes for adults and apprentices. You will find our students enthusiastic and well behaved, keen to learn and progress in their studies. This post is suitable for experienced teachers or those starting their career. Applicants must have a Chemistry or related degree qualification together with an appropriate teaching qualification.We would consider an applicant without a teaching qualification if they have suitable alternative experience either in industry or in higher education.
