About the role: Vocational Trainer in Performing ArtsWe are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Vocational Trainer in Performing Arts to join the Createch Faculty at Oxford College. As a Vocational Trainer, you will play a key role in supporting students to develop a broad range of practical, creative, and technical skills in preparation for careers in the Performing Arts industry. You will help to maintain safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environments, including the theatre, and support learners as they explore interdisciplinary projects that combine live and recorded performance practices.The role involves delivering lessons, supervising practical workshops, and working collaboratively across both the Dance and Performing Arts courses to support high-quality practical learning. You will work closely with teaching staff to plan projects, contribute to the development of schemes of learning, and provide constructive feedback to support student progress and development.Key responsibilities will include:• Plan and deliver engaging workshops that develop students’ creative, technical, and performance skills within an inclusive and motivating learning environment.• Support rehearsal processes, live performances, and enrichment activities, encouraging confidence, creativity, and effective collaboration.• Contribute to a positive and supportive student experience by promoting learner progress, engagement, and development across the department.This is a permanent, part-time role working 15 hours per week (FTE 0.41) based at our Oxford College.What do you need to be a successful Vocational Trainer in Performing Arts?Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree in a relevant field, such as Performing Arts and Technical disciplines such as lighting, media and live sound engineering. Experience of using both lighting and sound equipment and being able to demonstrate and guide our learners through processes that develop skills in these disciplines is essential. Knowledge of UAL qualifications is desirable but not essential.
