Summary
The MHST Support Worker role will: Work closely alongside a team of mental health professionals delivering a wide range of evidence informed interventions Develop and practice evidence-based skills under supervision to work with children, young people and families. Develop and practice evidence-based skills to carry out whole school approach activities including groups. Supporting qualified staff members but also leading on the delivery of Universal Workshops within schools and colleges which focus on general mental health awareness, wellbeing, strategies and signposting. Carry out observations of young people within various settings which may lead to a diagnosis. Support co-production as well as the use of social media within the service. Supporting the delivery of WSA which is aimed to reduce stigma of mental health within school settings and encourage conversations around mental health Linking in with EMHPs and SMHLs within schools to deliver universal sessions catering to the needs of the school Have IT confidence and the ability to design, create and adapt presentations and workshops to ensure they are informative and engaging for CYP. The MHST Support Worker is required to: Demonstrate and evidence they have some knowledge of the education system Have experience of working with children and young people, their families and others. Have experience of working and liaising with a wide variety of agencies and stakeholders Have experience of working with children and young people who have social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties Demonstrate the ability to have good presentation skills to an audience.
