Summary
PALEUS is looking for a skilled and dependable Chemical Process Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production equipment and processes, monitoring system performance, and ensuring product quality meets specification at every stage. Working as part of a close-knit operational team, you will play a hands-on role in day-to-day plant activities. The role is part of small shift team working in a 24 hours a day, 5 days per week. The advertised rate includes a shift allowance.
Job Purpose
• To manufacture chemicals according to the relevant Production Record Sheet, including any relevant in-process testing
• To accept delivery of raw materials and packaging and ensure their appropriate quality and storage and dispatch to customers
Principal Accountabilities
1. Manufacture product according to the relevant Production Record Sheet, including any relevant in-process testing
2. Ensure that incoming raw materials are appropriately checked and offloaded
3. Ensure that finished product is appropriately packaged to the required customer specifications
4. Loading of finished product onto transport
5. To follow company and statutory Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements at all times
6. Move product around the site and ensure it is stored in the correct location
7. Be involved in maintenance tasks as required
Competencies, Knowledge, Experience and Skills
1. Knowledge and experience in operating chemical plant equipment to produce products via chemical reaction and blending
2. Attention to detail
3. Highly numerate
4. High personal standards and self-motivation
5. High concern for the safety of self and others
6. Experience of performing basic lab analysis such as pH and viscosity
7. Experienced Forklift truck operator preferred
