Summary

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Nights Support Workers/Carers to provide high-quality care during overnight shifts. This role involves supporting individuals in residential care settings, including supported living facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient well-being, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle a variety of caregiving responsibilities with professionalism and empathy. Responsibilities
Provide personal care and support to residents or clients during night hours, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Assist with medication administration in accordance with care plans and medical guidelines.
Monitor residents’ health status, recognising signs of distress or deterioration, and report findings to senior staff promptly.
Support individuals with mobility issues through safe lifting and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary.
Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary requirements.
Manage behaviour effectively using appropriate behaviour management strategies.
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including updates to care plans and incident reports.
Assist with light housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Support residents with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Respond swiftly to emergencies using first aid skills when required.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver personalised patient care and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Skills
Proven experience in nursing home, care home, or home care environments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical terminology, management of mental health issues, support work experience and case management is advantageous.
Strong understanding of medication administration procedures.
Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards elderly or vulnerable individuals.
First aid certification and other relevant mandatory training is essential; additional qualifications in nursing or medical fields are beneficial.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively within a caring framework.
Good organisational skills for managing care plans and documentation accurately.
Capable of heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with patient transfers and mobility support.
