As a Logistics Supervisor with Sodexo at Wythenshawe Hospital, you’ll play a key part in supervising and coordinating the hospital logistics/portering team ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of support services across the hospital. The role supports operational effectiveness by managing staff, overseeing patient and equipment movement, maintaining service standards, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and infection control procedures.
What You’ll Do
• Supervise and coordinate portering staff to ensure efficient patient, equipment, and material transfers across the hospital.
• Prepare and managing staff rotas to ensure appropriate service coverage across shifts and departments.
• Monitor workflow and allocating tasks to portering staff to ensure timely completion of requests.
• Act as the first point of contact for operational issues related to logistics services.
• Support and guide staff through coaching, performance monitoring, and day-to-day supervision.
What You’ll Bring
• Previous experience in a logistics, portering, facilities, or healthcare support environment.
• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clinical teams and managing staff.
• Knowledge of health and safety, infection control, and manual handling procedures.
