JOB – TEACHING ASSISTANT – FULL TIME - PERMANENT

Are you a fluent Welsh speaker with a passion for inspiring the next generation? We are looking for a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Grade 5) to play a pivotal role in our innovative Immersion Provision (Trochi).

This is more than just a support role—it is a chance to be at the forefront of the Welsh language vision in Powys, helping young learners find their voice in a new language.

You will support Year 2 to Year 6 learners at Canolfan Iaith Maldwyn as they begin their journey into Welsh-medium education. This immersion provision is held annually during the autumn term, primarily at Ysgol Bro Caereinion (subject to change based on local need)

You will work closely with lead teachers to facilitate rapid language acquisition through:

Focused individual and group support.
Engaging whole-class supervision.
Developing and sharing creative learning resources.
You aren't just a support assistant; you are a specialist in the transition process. Once the immersion period concludes, you will travel to support learners in their home schools, collaborating directly with teachers to embed successful Welsh-language strategies.

We are seeking a professional who combines high-level linguistic skill with a genuine heart for teaching.
