Summary

As a Payroll Apprentice, you will join our Payroll Team and gain hands-on experience working within a high-volume, fast-paced payroll environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn the end-to-end payroll process while supporting thousands of workers across multiple payroll models.
You will be trained by experienced payroll professionals and supported throughout your apprenticeship, developing both technical payroll knowledge and broader commercial awareness.

We are FCSA accredited, hold a strong reputation within the industry, and are continuing to expand our accreditations throughout this year.

List of Duties:
-Support the Payroll Team with the accurate and timely processing of payroll.
-Respond to payroll queries from employees and internal teams.
-Use payroll software efficiently.
-Help ensure payroll complies with HMRC and company policies.
-Support with payslip queries.
-Ensure statutory payments (sick pay, maternity/paternity pay, holiday pay) are calculated correctly.
- Shadow experienced payroll administrators and accountants.
-Develop skills in confidentiality, accuracy, time management, and customer service.
-Filing payroll reports and payslips securely and distributing them to contractors


Training
You will attend Exeter College one day a week (during term time) working towards either the Level 2 or 3 Administration apprenticeship.

Qualifications required


Maths and English GCSE C/4
A-Levels or BTEC's highly desirable


Skills required


Good numerical accuracy
Analytical thinking to solve problems
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication


Prospects
A permanent position within the Payroll Team will be available for the right candidate.

Duration 18 months
