Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced MOT Technician to join our client's busy automotive service centre in Salisbury.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated MOT Technician looking to advance their career within a reputable, expanding company. Our client, a leading UK tyre retailer and service centre group, is committed to providing high-quality vehicle care and developing their team’s skills.
Benefits:
- Starting salary between £34-36,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience, plus bonuses earned (roughly £3,600 per annum).
- Monthly performance-related bonuses
- 42.5-hour working week over five days, Monday to Friday, with an alternating Saturday rota (1 in 2 Saturdays, 8:00am-4:00pm)
- Enhanced holiday allowance plus an additional day off for your birthday
- Optional overtime with pay at standard rates

Duties of a MOT Technician:
- Carrying out MOT tests on customer vehicles in accordance with Ministry standards
- Diagnosing faults and performing repairs and servicing as required
- Providing support to the workshop team with various technical and customer-related tasks
- Occasionally assisting at the front reception with customer enquiries
- Producing high-quality workmanship within set timeframes of a MOT Technician
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and workshop procedures
Requirements:
- Valid and active MOT licence
- Proven experience as an MOT Technician
- UK driving licence with minimal points
- Strong mechanical knowledge of various vehicle makes and models
- Ability to deliver precise, high-quality work under time constraints
- Friendly and approachable manner, with good communication skills
- Team-oriented attitude and commitment to workshop efficiency
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and dedicated to customer service excellence
