Location: Brighton
Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time, minimum 30 hours per week (37.5 hours standard week)

The Role
This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives in a dynamic, client-centric environment. You will oversee the full delivery of our accounting, advisory, and tax services.
You will lead a team of Client Advisory Managers, Client Advisory Accountants and an outsourced team in India, developing their technical capability, supporting their client relationships, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery across the department.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Client Advisory Managers and Client Advisory Accountants
• Prepare and carry out staff review meetings and monthly catch-ups
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Oversee workload planning, resource allocation, and team capacity management
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional development within the Advisory team
• Lead the weekly accounting meeting with the Team
• Attend and contribute to weekly leadership meetings
Service Delivery and Client Relationship Management
• Oversee the preparation and timely submission of all personal tax returns
• Prepare and review complex high-net-worth tax returns, including those involving:
• Non-UK tax residents
• Non-dom clients
• Cryptoasset tax disclosures and returns
• Property and share disposals (including CGT)
• Leading R&D tax advisory service, ensuring compliance-focused and high-quality claims
• Managing the tax consulting function, delivering strategic advisory work to clients, including personal tax, CGT, residence, domicile, and crypto tax
• Reviewing complex computations prepared by junior and mid-level team members
• Leading tax planning projects at both the personal and corporate levels
• Supporting HMRC enquiries, disclosures, and technical queries as required
• Act as the senior point of escalation for client complaints
• Support Client Advisory Managers in managing client expectations, scope, and service quality
• Lead strategic financial conversations with clients where required
• Ensure client satisfaction, retention, and long-term relationship growth
Operational Excellence
• Drive improvements in systems, processes, and workflows across the Advisory function
• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and best practice standards
• Collaborate with leadership to refine service offerings, pricing, and delivery models
• Support the integration of new technology, automation, and reporting tools
Strategic Contribution
• Contribute to firm-wide planning, growth initiatives, and operational strategy
• Provide insights into team performance, client trends, and service development opportunities
• Champion innovation and continuous improvement across the Advisory department
Requirements
Essential
• Fully qualified accountant or working towards (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent)
• Significant experience in accounting, advisory, and Tax Compliance services
• Strong experience managing diverse and complex personal tax portfolios
• Demonstrable expertise in crypto tax, CGT, non-resident and non-dom rules, and HNW structures
• Proven leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment
• Strong technical knowledge of UK tax laws and HMRC practices
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial information
• Experience improving processes, systems, and workflows
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Desirable
• Experience in a modern, cloud-based accounting firm
• Familiarity with Xero, Dext, Iris elements or similar tools
• Experience supporting SMEs, start-ups, or high-growth businesses
