Summary

Central Recruitment is working with a London-based charity dedicated to preventing homelessness and supporting individuals in rebuilding their lives.

Our client is currently recruiting for a Floating Support Worker to work in the Redbridge area at a service supporting individuals who may be at risk of homelessness or facing challenges in sustaining their tenancy, helping them build stability and live independently in their own homes.

• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday - Friday
• Shifts: 09:00 - 17:00
• Temporary: approx. 3 months
• £16.69 per hour (£14.89 per hour, with £1.80 holiday pay)

Please note: this is a floating support role. You will be required to support clients across the community and within their own homes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Hold a changing caseload of key clients
• Arrange and carry out formal case reviews which are client led
• Translate assessed need into action plans that are SMART and give scope for progression
• Produce comprehensive and high-quality risk assessment and risk management plans
• Support clients with budgeting, tenancy management, accessing welfare and health services, and improving wellbeing and community engagement
• Work with other departments and external community agencies
• Promote independence, inclusion, and participation within services and the wider community
• Deliver activities and group sessions in response to client needs
• Support clients into employment, education, or training opportunities
• Participate in duty rotas and service-related activities

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including mental or physical health issues, substance misuse, challenging behaviour, antisocial behaviour, or offending histories
• Knowledge of supported accommodation and/or floating support services
• Understanding of housing and related legislation
• Experience supporting clients with budgeting, benefits, and rent arrears
• Ability to assess needs, manage risk, and deliver effective support plans for vulnerable clients
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures
• Ability to build effective relationships with partner agencies and service providers
• Strong ability to motivate and empower individuals towards greater independence and inclusion

FURTHER REQUIREMENTS:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Current valid right to work in the UK
• Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
• A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
• Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
