TEC Partnership is made up of four colleges, two training providers, a 14-16 provision and a nursery, stretching from Scarborough to Skegness with a Nottingham based campus also.

About the role


The Server Infrastructure Engineer will provide senior, third‑line technical expertise to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the organisation’s server and core infrastructure services, to all colleges within TEC Partnership.


There will be a requirement for travel between colleges. The role is responsible for designing, maintaining, and supporting on‑premises and cloud infrastructure that underpins teaching, learning, assessments, and critical business operations.


Key expectations include acting as an escalation point for complex incidents, maintaining high availability and disaster recovery arrangements, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity, safeguarding, data protection, and regulatory requirements.


The post holder will contribute to infrastructure projects, upgrades, and continuous service improvements, while producing clear technical documentation and providing guidance to colleagues.


About the person


The successful candidate will have significant experience in a server or infrastructure engineering role, supporting enterprise or multi‑site environments and resolving complex technical issues. They will demonstrate strong knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory, virtualisation and storage platforms, Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), and hybrid or cloud environments, alongside a solid understanding of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity.


The successful person will have the following qualifications:


A recognised Level 4 qualification (or higher) in ICT, Computing, or equivalent professional experience is required,
Relevant vendor certifications such as Microsoft, virtualisation, cybersecurity, or ITIL is considered desirable.
GCSE/Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent.
A full UK driving license and willingness to travel between sites are required.

The role also requires excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, the ability to work independently under pressure, and strong documentation and communication skills, including explaining technical concepts clearly to non‑technical users.
