Summary

North Bedfordshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

This is an exciting opportunity to join North Bedfordshire CAMHS. The Senior Mental Health Practitioner is a community-based post sitting within our CAMHS Adolescent Mental Health Team (AMHT).

The AMHT is a multi-disciplinary team comprised of social workers, therapists, nurses, psychologists, and support workers who work with young people (between 13-18) who have the most complex mental health problems. This role will contribute to the provision of an intensive mental health service to children and young people who have complex mental health needs by offering specialist assessment and treatment packages of care. Our Senior Mental Health Practitioners are an integral part of the team, undertaking a wide range of work with young people.

The AMHT offers individual, family and group interventions which are centered around the young person and their family/carers. The post holder will need to be a good team player but also require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management, and will be a highly visible presence in clinical practice.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

This post is based in Bedford, Bedfordshire. Whilst some of the work is based in the clinic, access to a car is essential as some travel will be required to undertake community support.
