Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

SCSP recently commissioned an independent external review of its governance which concluded that ‘Overall, the Board is demonstrating very high-quality governance providing effective oversight, monitoring, challenge, support and accountability and is seeking to ensure that all layers of the Trust’s governance benefit from the best conditions to be able to deliver effectively’. The Board is now seeking to build on these strong foundations by recruitingone or two additional trustees toincrease the Board’s capacity and its range of experience and perspectives.

The main purpose of the Trust Board is to take a strategic role, act as a critical friend to the Trust and its constituent schools, and be accountable for its decisions.

This voluntary leadership position also provides the opportunity to:

Contribute to Trust-wide strategy, vision and long-term planning, setting a clear strategic direction and monitoring progress toward Trust objectives.

Hold the Executive Team to account for educational performance, and ensuring positive school improvement across all areas.

Influence key decisions that shape the educational experience of thousands of pupils and ensure our values:Collaborative, Respectful, Supportive, Aspirational and Inclusiveare lived.

Overseeing financial performance and ensuring resources are managed responsibly.
