Summary
The duties of the post are to assist the Ministers, and the Kirk Session in ensuring hte smooth running of the Cathedral as a place of worship and as a building of great beauty and historical interest. This will require you to do the following:
(a) be the first point of contact with people seeking (by email or phone) to see one of the Ministers or to discuss funeral arrangements or weddings or other matters;
(b) assist the Ministers with correspondence and diary management;
(c) support the Session Clerk and the Kirk Session as required;
(d) support the Cathedral Treasurers with invoicing and payment records;
(e) produce Orders of Service;
(f) respond to requests forinformation about booking the Cathedral for concerts, events, tourist visits, and the Dunbar Street Hall for other activities; receive bookings, issue invoices and process payments;
(g) maintain the Cathedral Diary for events, services and maintenance;
(h) working with the Roll Keeper, maintain the Cathedral Database;
(i) supervising from time to time setting up for concerts;
(j) carry out such other tasks as may be reasonably required, including ordering supplies and helping to develop the Cathedral's public profile.
The postis based in the Cathedral, involving 19 hours per week spread over 5 days (or by negotiation 4), Monday to Friday starting at 9.30am.
