Summary
Yardman
Our client has opportunities available as a Yardman based in a construction business outside Peterborough.
£12.71/hr (To be reviewed after successful completion of probation).
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors and being part of a practical, fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting daily yard operations and providing excellent service to our client's customers.
Main Duties:
- Loading and unloading goods using machinery as trained for.
- Assisting and serving customers.
- Moving and organising stock within the yard and warehouse.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe yard environment with clear turning areas for vehicles.
- Supporting the wider team with general yard duties as required.
- Liaising with Works Manager regarding stock levels.
- Ensuring all visitors to site are signed in and comply with site rules.
- Making up orders.
- Liaising with office regarding samples and supplies.
- Local deliveries by Flatbed.
Skills and Experience:
- Forklift licence preferred (training may be provided for the right candidate).
- Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor role.
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills and a helpful attitude with customers.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and willingness to learn and be a good communicator.
Working Hours:
- Full-time position; 7am - 4pm
- Some Saturday work / overtime required
