Summary
The OpportunityA growing and commercially focused engineering business is seeking an experienced Management Accountant / Finance Manager to join its team.Reporting to senior leadership, this is a highly visible role with responsibility for delivering accurate, insightful financial information to support strategic and operational decision-making across the business and wider group.You will play a key role in driving performance, improving processes, and strengthening financial control, while partnering with stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, including detailed P&L and supporting analysis
- Submission of financial KPIs with high-quality commentary to senior leadership and Board
- Development of budgets, forecasts, and scenario modelling
- Variance analysis with clear, actionable insight into performance
- Management and optimisation of working capital, including oversight of AP/AR functions
- Monthly Work in Progress (WIP) valuation
- Business partnering across departments to support commercial decision-making
- Monitoring spend against budget and driving cost control initiatives
- Development of financial models to support operational and strategic decisions
- Oversight of statutory compliance and audit process
- Supporting continuous improvement of finance systems, including automation and reporting tools
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a similar commercial finance role
- Strong management accounting and financial analysis background
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or project-based environments desirable
- Advanced Excel skills, with strong systems awareness
- Proven ability to partner with operational teams and influence decision-making
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and business performance
