The Exciting Role
A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Workshop Tutor in Engineering, specialising in Welding processes to join ELLG on a full-time, permanent basis.
We are looking for candidates with experience in the following areas:
- MIG Welding
- TIG Welding
- MMA Welding
- Sheet Metal

For a candidate wishing to make the move from industry to training, a training package (with support for completing relevant qualifications) could be explored.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson and Colne College but may be required to travel across sites.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Training apprentices in the workshop to develop their knowledge, skills, and behaviours to industry standard.
- Planning and preparing high quality workshop sessions to maximise apprentices’ development and progress on their Apprenticeship Standard.
- Developing and sharing resources for the course/subject.
- Completing required assessments, in line with Awarding Body/EPAO Requirements.
- Working closely with Work Based Trainer Assessors to plan and monitor for student progress and achievement.
- Contributing to 12 weekly progress reviews.
What We Are Looking For:
- Substantial current experience, knowledge and understanding of engineering.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification at Level 3 or above or a willingness to undertake this
- A1 qualification (desirable)
- Successful experience delivering and assessing in a workshop setting (Engineering).
