Summary
Commercial wholesale nursery, growing bedding and pot plants for major high street multiples and supermarkets, pumpkin crop.
This is a varied role and you will assist with aspects of nursery production, plant care and husbandry, packing orders and nursery maintenance as required to meet Company objectives.
Duties and key responsibilities
a. Production Duties
· Assist in the seeding house, working on plug production, potting young plants
· Moving trollies and stock around the nursery including laying out and spacing crops on the ground
· General housekeeping duties such as cleaning production and machines and general nursery maintenance
· Watering crops and general plant husbandry
· Spacing and laying out plants
· Picking orders
· Completing sowing and production records as required
b. Sales Duties
· Preparing product for orders and picking customer orders
· Packing and loading of plants prior to dispatch
· Working on sales lines to produce orders to customer specification
· Checking labels, completing order dispatch paperwork
· Working in dispatch and goods in
c. Other Duties
· Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested
Knowledge, skills and experience
• Ideally have some horticultural knowledge or experience
• Be willing to work as part of team
• Flexible and reliable
• Able to read and write in English to a good standard
• Enjoy working in a busy environment and to tight deadlines
• Have a good eye for attention to detail
