University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking to recruit a Band 3 Bladder and Bowel Healthcare Support Worker to join our Specialist Bladder and Bowel Service within UHCW Community Services.
This post offers an excellent opportunity to work within a city‑wide specialist continence service, supporting adults with bladder and bowel health needs to maintain dignity, independence and quality of life in their own homes and local communities.
A full UK driving license is essential for this role. Please note that an international driving license is not accepted.

Secondment will be considered for internal candidates – If you are successful after interview, you must obtain approval from your current line manager to accept the offer.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
As a Bladder and Bowel Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, person‑centred continence care.
Care will be delivered under the supervision of the specialist Bladder and Bowel team, working within local Integrated Neighbourhood Teams to meet the needs of the local population.
You will:
• Deliver appropriately delegated aspects of continence care under the direction and supervision of registered clinicians
• Support registered nurses with continence reassessments, clinics and follow-up care
• Provide education, information and practical support to patients, carers and families relating to bladder and bowel health
• Accurately document care provided and contribute to care planning, audits and service improvement
• Monitor patients’ conditions, reporting concerns and escalating changes appropriately
• Work collaboratively with community nursing teams, primary care, acute services, social care and allied health professionals
• Adhere to Trust policies, safeguarding requirements, infection prevention and lone working procedures
Travel across the locality as required, carrying clinical equipment such as bladder scanners
The role requires sensitivity, compassion and professionalism, recognising that continence care is a highly personal and sometimes challenging area for patients.

The group is currently trialling a new Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT) model following a collaborative event with internal and external stakeholders. This pilot aims to explore team structures and assess the impact on patient experience. While no formal redesign has taken place yet, the outcomes of this trial may inform future service delivery and team configuration across the group.
