Summary
A BSc degree in Physiology (or other relevant degrees such as Sport Science) and previous experience of lung function testing are essential for this role. You will be able to perform routine pulmonary function tests such as FeNO, Spirometry (and assess bronchodilator response) Gas Transfer, Body Plethysmography, 6 minute walking test, and muscle function (MIPS, MEPS, SNIP, Postural spirometry). Interpretation of some or all of these tests is desirable, but not essential. As the successful applicant you will complete in-house Band 5 competencies, in addition to relevant external qualification(s) to be nationally accredited, and register on voluntary professional registers (Academy of Healthcare Science). This is your opportunity to progress your career within the Respiratory Physiology field.Applicants will have a special interest in Respiratory Medicine/Lung Function Testing. You may already be ARTP accredited, or currently completing this process, but you must be willing to work towards this. You will need to travel independently in order to work across 2 sites; at both Southampton General Hospital and The Royal South Hants Hospital- which is the base for our Community Diagnostic Centre.If you are driven, proactive, hardworking and enjoy working as part of a team this is the role for you. A keen eye for detail and accuracy is essential. This role is Monday 08:00-16:00 Tuesday- Friday 08:30-16:30 with potential in the future for to see private patients at an enhanced rate complementing your baseline salary.
