You could be at the forefront of a high-profile, £1.5 billion megaproject which will have a significant impact on the economy, the environment, and society.

This project represents a transformative step towards a green, decarbonised future and a fundamental restructure of how we do business.

Working as part of a team that is driving engineering excellence, you’ll collaborate with range of diverse stakeholders to develop and safely build Tata Steel’s 3.2mt electric arc furnace.

The engineering challenges are immense and exciting. You'll be involved in cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions that will set new industry standards. From initial design through to final implementation, this project will test and expand your engineering skills.

Be a part of this ground breaking project with us.

What you will do

As a Project Engineer, you will create project plans and proposals that will support and improve our business. You’ll oversee all stages of projects that are assigned to you, from initial concept, through execution to final acceptance, ensuring all work meets the relevant standards and guidelines from a design, safety and environmental standpoint. You will support by drafting technical specifications and requests for quotations from OEMs and contractor partners.

Your role involves the overseeing of project engineering activities to ensure the area you are responsible for is completed on time and to budget, safely and to the designed standard. Problem-solving and liaising with internal and external stakeholders is critical to your success.

What you will need

The Project Engineer will hold a strong background within the Heavy Industry sector. A degree in Engineering and Chartered Engineer status is desirable but not essential. A solid understanding of project management techniques, risk assessment, and safety study methods is ideal, however, individuals who are successful will be expected to develop themselves and training will be provided.
