Summary
As an Entry Level Officer (ELO) you will support in the delivery of the ongoing management and maintenance of up to 500ha of LWT’s peatland reserves across Greater Manchester, North Merseyside, and Lancashire, while receiving training in a professional working environment that will aim to elevate your skills and knowledge, preparing you for further career progression and opportunities.
During the 12 month project each Entry Level Officer will have an in-depth introduction, giving them many opportunities within the team and the Trust; which may include, but not limited to:
Participation in practical on-site conservation work
Supporting volunteers and volunteer recruitment
Engaging with local community groups
Attending events/conferences and
Participate in surveys and producing reports
As part of your training you will also be required to create and complete a portfolio of work and one personal project.
The post holder will need high levels of confidence, the ability to manage workload, communicate effectively, and be passionate about the natural world. Whilst we are not expecting ELOs to have in-depth knowledge or skill set specialising in habit, species, and/or project work, we do require a high level of enthusiasm and drive; the ELO program is a fun and engaging opportunity but requires hard work and dedication.

Occasional work outside of regular office hours such as early mornings, evenings and weekends may be required depending on the demands of the role.
