A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I’m a 22-year-old male who has learning disabilities and autism. I live in independent living in Pontypridd, although I have a close and supportive family network. I enjoy gaming and was actively participating in MMA fighting/ training until a few years ago. This is something I would like to explore again with the help of a PA. I also want to get back into the gym.
It will take me some time to build a good relationship so the applicant must be understanding of this.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To support me to develop independent living and social skills. To encourage me to access the community.
HOURS OF WORK
10 hours per week
Flexibility is essential - days and times to vary as/when needed
RATES OF PAY
£16.00 per hour
40p mileage when you use your car
TASKS WILL INCLUDE
Prompting me to maintain and manage my hygiene
General domestic assistance
Taking me to appointments and going shopping for weekly groceries
Supporting me to access activities of my choice within the community
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Male due to the support required with personal care
Bubbly personality who can have banter
Ideally the same interests
Be able to give reassurance and guidance when needed
Proactive in situations and be able to problem solve on your own initiative
Patience whilst we develop a working and trusting relationship
You must be flexible, understanding that shifts, days and times may change with short notice
A car owner/driver who is willing to use car for work purposes/take me on outings
ABOUT THE JOB
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment. The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number. Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
