About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an Administrative Officer (AO) to join a busy Magistrates Court in Basingstoke. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience within a respected public sector organisation while developing strong administrative and customer service skills.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you will play an important part in supporting the day-to-day operation of the court.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing administrative support to ensure the smooth running of court operations
- Preparing and processing legal documents accurately and efficiently
- Managing emails, calls, filing, and general office tasks
- Liaising with court staff, legal professionals, and external stakeholders
- Delivering a professional and courteous service to members of the public
- Assisting with court hearings, including occasional ushering duties
- Processing payments and updating court records
- Supporting virtual hearings (CVP) where required
What We're Looking For
- Previous administrative experience (ideally 1-2 years, but transferable skills considered)
- Strong communication skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a varied workload
- A professional, calm and approachable manner, particularly when dealing with the public
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (A*-C) or equivalent, or relevant administrative experience

Additional Information
