Summary
Central Recruitment is currently working with a local authority dedicated to preventing people from becoming homeless and supporting individuals in finding long-term, affordable and sustainable housing.
Our client is currently recruiting for a Project Worker to work in the Ilford area at a service that provides supported housing accommodation to clients with complex needs and a history of rough sleeping.
• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday - Sunday (rota basis)
• Shifts: 08:00 - 16:00 and 14:00 - 22:00
• Temporary: approx. 2-3 months, with the possibility of extension
• £17.76 per hour (£15.85 per hour, with £1.91 holiday pay)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Hold a caseload of 8-9 key clients and carry out key working responsibilities
• Complete comprehensive needs and risk assessments, risk management and support plans
• Ensure the building is free of any slips and trips meeting Health and Safety requirements
• Ensure new clients are made to feel comfortable and are given appropriate information
• Carry out weekly/daily flat inspections for the residents at the service
• Interview and assess referrals to ensure the criteria is met
• Support clients to identify opportunities for move-on and make appropriate referrals
• Work with clients to identify activities that they would like to take part in
• Run activities in response to client needs
• Ensure safeguarding and addressing immediate needs are paramount to service delivery
• Complete incident reports and raise to hostel manager
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
• Experience working with complex needs and homelessness in a hostel environment
• Experience holding a high need caseload
• Experience completing needs and risk assessments and support plans
• Strong understanding of complex needs including, mental and physical ill-health, substance misuse, self-harm, anger management, learning impairment
• Understanding of the Strengths and Recovery model and PIE
• Experience identifying risk and understanding of safeguarding procedures
• Experience with housing management including monitoring rent payments
• Ability to work intensively with clients, respond to crisis and deal effectively to challenging situations
• IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office programmes and database recording systems
FURTHER REQUIREMENTS:
In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Current valid right to work in the UK
• Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)
• A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)
• Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
