Senior Children’s Support Worker
Location: Shrewsbury
Full‑time
Shift‑based (including evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins)
Lotus Recruitment is currently working on behalf of a well‑established residential children’s setting to recruit an experienced and committed Senior Children’s Support Worker.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural and complex needs, and who can lead by example within a residential care environment.
The Role
In this role, you will:
-Provide high‑quality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting
-Take responsibility for leading shifts and supporting the day‑to‑day running of the home
-Act as a positive role model and mentor for support staff
-Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour at all times
-Support children with daily routines, education, health appointments and activities
-Ensure care plans, records and reports are maintained accurately and on time
-Work closely with managers and external professionals to support positive outcomes
What We Are Looking For
-Experience working with children or young people in a residential or care setting
-A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
-Confidence in supporting and guiding staff while on shift
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-Calm, resilient and compassionate approach
-Flexibility to work a rota, including sleep‑ins, weekends and bank holidays
-Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards this
