About Us

Lledr Hall is Salford City Council’s residential outdoor education centre, set in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. For over 50 years, the Centre has delivered safe, highquality residential outdoor learning experiences that build confidence, resilience and teamwork in children and young people.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Centre to provide strategic, operational and pastoral leadership for Lledr Hall.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines people management, operational oversight and a genuine passion for outdoor education.

You will have overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the Centre, ensuring outstanding standards in safeguarding, health & safety, programme quality and customer experience. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage budgets and resources, and act as the senior safeguarding and compliance lead.

Working closely with the Deputy Head of Centre, you will shape the Centre’s strategic direction and champion the value of outdoor education across Salford.

About you

You will be an established leader within residential outdoor education or a related field, with:

  • Experience of leading teams and managing complex operational environments, Providing strong, visible leadership and fostering a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk management and outdoor activity compliance
  • Experience of quality assurance, curriculumlinked outdoor learning and customer service
  • Budget and resource management experience
  • Highlevel technical competence in at least one adventurous activity (or working towards)
  • A track record or driving continuous improvement in standards, systems and guest experience

Safeguarding

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check with barred list checks. The postholder will be expected to lead safeguarding culture and practice across the Centre.

You will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £12.38 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
