Summary
An opportunity has arisen to join Rochdale Adult Care as an Advanced Practitioner MCA / DOLS co-ordinator working as part of our Training, Assurance and Safeguarding Team (TAS).
The TAS team sits within Adult Care and supports with a range of functions in relation to quality and practice assurance including the application of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. The team consists of members with practice experience across various areas within Adult Care bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and skills. The team’s functions include supporting with and overseeing career progression pathways including the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE), delivering a varied training calendar in conjunction with Talent Conversations and key practice areas, producing tailored support sessions, materials and resources for practitioners to access across the service, and ensuring that the high standards of work and support to residents of the Borough continues through quality assurance processes.

As an Advanced Practitioner within Rochdale, you will be supported in your professional development through regular one to one supervision, peer groups and our comprehensive learning and development offer which includes, formal qualifications and leadership courses. You will have opportunity to further develop your skills and knowledge within adult services, and areas of specific interest.
We are looking for energetic, creative and experienced social workers who can demonstrate tenacity and enthusiasm in making a positive difference and delivering positive outcomes to the lives of adults and their carers. We are looking for candidates with a proven record of dealing with highly-complex safeguarding situations, enhanced understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, the ability and confidence to make clear and evidenced-based decisions, and strong experience of supporting other practitioners with their own development.
We are seeking to appoint a focused and passionate Advanced Practitioner who can champion best practice and lead on the services Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards statutory application.
Therefore, it is essential that the post holder is able to work relationally with others with a flexible and adaptable approach always demonstrating their commitment to working to the highest possible standards whilst remaining service user focussed at all times.
There will be emphasis on supporting and developing social work practice across the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams, notably around the application of the Mental Capacity Act and newly qualified social workers progressing through their ASYE, and as such we expect candidates to either hold or be prepared to work towards the qualification as a Practice Educator in Social Work.
The post holder’s must be able to demonstrate an ability to travel around the Borough of Rochdale.
This post is subject to satisfactory two year reference history, Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, medical clearance, evidence of essential qualifications and proof of legal working in accordance with Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
