Summary
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
At Novus Property Solutions, we’re proud of our long history of developing apprentices and early careers talent. This year, we’re excited to offer a new role within our Head Office team in Stoke-on-Trent. As an Apprentice Bid Writer, you will join our Work Winning function, focused on ensuring our operational teams have a strong pipeline of work. Bidding and tendering is paramount to the success of our business growth and expansion plans.
About the Programme
You will begin by working towards a Level 3 Bids & Proposals qualification over a 24-month programme, supported by paid day release at college.
During the programme, you will learn the importance of compiling customer-focused bids and tender proposals to win new business. You will support the full end-to-end proposal process, from registering interest and coordinating activities through to developing detailed responses to pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs), bid submissions and tender documentation.
This will lead to an APMP Bid Writing qualification, supported by Novus after you complete your apprenticeship. This provides a clear progression route and the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and skills as a trained professional within the bid writing sector.
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of the team, you will support the successful delivery of projects by learning and contributing to:
Organisation and planning – Learn how managing several activities simultaneously impacts workloads across the function.
Writing and editorial – Develop strong proofreading skills, with an eye for detail, and build confidence in writing to help compile proposal documents and maintain bid libraries.
Stakeholder management - Build relationships with cross-functional teams and colleagues, including participating in meetings.
Teamwork - Work closely with experienced colleagues across Business Services, gaining practical knowledge in a collaborative team environment.
Technology - Learn how to use our systems and technology tools to enhance team output and support bid and tender success rates.
What’s in it for You
Starting pay of £8.00 per hour (with annual increases)
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (including day release)
Paid day release to attend college
Full on-the-job training
Personal skills development
Apprentice Buddy/Mentor Scheme
Additional Benefits
27 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
Company pension scheme – up to 7.5%
We also offer our employees discounted healthcare, high street & lifestyle discounts (including Tastecard), one paid volunteering day per year, length-of-service awards, and more.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and develop their career, and who want to understand how our support teams help drive the success of Novus Property Solutions.
Ideally, you will have: GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4–9 / A*–C), A Levels or a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent), and basic IT skills (including Microsoft Excel).
You will also:
Have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
Be keen to learn and develop new skills
Have good communication and teamwork abilities
Please note: This apprenticeship may not be suitable for candidates who already hold (or are studying towards) a Level 3 qualification in Bids & Proposals (or a closely related subject).
