About the role.
We are looking for a talented and driven Deputy Entertainment Editor to play a key role in leading our dynamic entertainment team.
This is a senior hands-on editorial role with real influence. You will work closely with the Entertainment Editor to shape daily
output, lead the news agenda and ensure our journalism is fast, authoritative and distinctive across all platforms.
You will be at the centre of a busy 24/7 operation, commissioning and producing original content, driving breaking news coverage
and helping to deliver high-impact multimedia journalism that meets the needs of our customers.
This role includes working as part of a rota, including shifts, evenings and weekends as required, reflecting the always-on nature
of entertainment news.

development.
The minimum salary for the job level in which this role sits is £39,558, and the job family is Deputy Section Editor. We are happy

What you’ll be trusted with.
* Helping to lead and shape output across the wire, digital, video and social platforms
* Driving coverage of breaking entertainment news and leading the newslist in the editor’s absence
* Commissioning and producing original journalism, from interviews to live event coverage
* Line managing and developing reporters, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
* Identifying stories, trends and opportunities across a wide range of sources and platforms
* Ensuring all content is accurate, legally sound and optimised for digital and social performance
* Managing forward planning, contributing to diary management and attending editorial meetings
* Representing PA at events, building contacts and securing exclusive content
What you’ll need to be considered.
* Strong experience in an entertainment or digital news environment
* Excellent editorial judgement and a proven ability to spot stories quickly
* A track record of delivering fast, accurate and engaging content under pressure
* Confidence leading a team and making decisions in a live news environment
* Deep understanding of digital publishing, SEO and social media strategy
* Strong knowledge of media law
* A proactive, organised approach and the ability to thrive on a shift-based rota
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships
