Summary

Senior Underwriter - Property & Casualty
Location: Birmingham (hybrid working)
Salary: Circa 70k Basic + Bonus + Benefits

IPS Group is working with a leading insurer to recruit a Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter to join a large, well-established renewals team in Birmingham. The role focuses on large, UK-domiciled corporate risks, typically £100k+ in premium. The portfolio is broad, covering sectors such as property owners, public sector, and a range of commercial trades, offering a good variety across the book.

The position is primarily renewals-focused, handling sizeable cases while maintaining and developing relationships with national brokers. There is also a market-facing element, particularly on larger risks, with broker and client engagement both in person and virtually.

The role operates at a senior level with a strong degree of underwriting authority, making it well-suited to someone already operating at this level or looking to step up. While initially aligned to renewals, there is scope in the future to move across different areas of the business and broaden exposure.

They are looking for someone with solid Property & Casualty experience within the open market, who is comfortable managing complex cases and engaging confidently with brokers. The role offers flexibility on salary, with a competitive package available, and operates on a hybrid basis with 3 days per week in the office, with slightly more office presence expected initially.
