Summary

The Role
As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of commissioning activities across the full lifecycle, from preparation through to execution and handover.

Key responsibilities include:

- Witnessing vendor testing activities at factory acceptance stage
- Producing and managing commissioning test documentation and specifications
- Carrying out early inspections of installation to support system handover readiness
- Executing commissioning and testing activities throughout the project phase
- Identifying faults, troubleshooting issues, and implementing practical solutions
- Coordinating Commissioning Technicians and supporting resources on site
- Raising and implementing Field Observation Reports (FOBs)
- Reviewing and validating working instructions
- Managing temporary commissioning aids (installation and removal)

What We’re Looking For

- Strong background in CE&I commissioning within highly regulated environments (nuclear experience preferred)
- Minimum HNC/HND in an engineering discipline
- Demonstrable experience delivering commissioning activities on complex projects
- Good understanding of project delivery principles (APM membership advantageous)
- Ability to produce calculations and technical documentation using Excel
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capability
- Experience supervising teams and coordinating site activities

Certifications (Desirable/Required)

- IOSH Managing Safely
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- ECS Supervisory Card (relevant to discipline)

Tools & Systems

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for calculations and reporting
