We are seeking a dedicated, motivated, and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive and forward‑thinking secondary school team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to raise attainment, promote inclusion, and support pupils with a range of needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering lessons and interventions to individuals, small groups, or whole classes
- Supporting pupils across a range of abilities, including those with SEN and additional needs
- Assisting with lesson planning, assessment, and pupil progress tracking
- Managing behaviour positively in line with school policies
- Providing high‑quality classroom support in the absence of teaching staff
- Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils to promote engagement and wellbeing
- Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- HLTA status or relevant equivalent experience
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Experience working in a secondary school setting
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A calm, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting pupils
- A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
