An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our RLHRapid Access to Acute Rehab (RAAR)service:
This permanent role in RAAR will give you the opportunity to work as part of the wider multidisciplinary team offering Level 1-equivalent rehabilitation for patients following Major Trauma or neurological injury.
You will work alongside your RAAR team colleagues to provide seamless integrated care in line with our WeCare values and behaviours. You will be responsible for assessing and providing evidence-based intervention for patients including determining their optimal rehabilitation/discharge pathway/management plan in line with their functional goals.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience within neurological rehabilitation, a passion for physiotherapy, excellent communication skills, plenty of initiative and enthusiasm, and with the ability to work both autonomously and as a part of the wider MDT.
We offer a supportive and engaging environment in the RAAR, Neuro Trauma, and wider RLH Therapy teams to develop and grow our therapists including through regular supervision, education, and training. You will have the opportunity to develop your own clinical and supervisory skills with supervising Band 5 physiotherapists, rehabilitation support workers, and/or students.
To assist and contribute to organising, developing, and delivering a high-quality physiotherapy service provided to patients engaging in Level 1-equivalent rehabilitation in the RLH Rapid Access to Acute Rehabilitation Unit (RAAR) following major trauma. These patients will have Neurological and/or Trauma impairments.
To provide interventions including the advanced assessment and treatment of patients, provision of individual and group education and treatment, provision of assistive devices (orthotics) and equipment, and as needed respiratory assessment and treatment.
To support the wider Neuro Trauma team as needed clinically and operationally (across Major Trauma, Orthopaedics and Plastics, and Neurosurgical wards). There will be an expectation for the post holder to be part of the weekend working roster and the emergency on call roster.
