Mechanical Fitter (Night Shift) – 4 on 4 off
Mechanical Fitter (Day Shift) – 4 on 4 off
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a wide range of heavy industrial machinery. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work under pressure in a physically demanding environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime and extend equipment life
Respond quickly to breakdowns and perform effective reactive maintenance
Diagnose mechanical faults across a range of heavy plant machinery
Repair and replace components such as bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, pumps, and hydraulic systems
Work on conveyors, crushers, screening equipment, and other large-scale industrial systems
Conduct alignment, fitting, and installation of mechanical components
Use technical drawings and manuals to support maintenance activities
Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations
Assist with shutdowns, overhauls, and project work
Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
Requirements
NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Proven experience in a heavy industrial environment
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Electrical Engineer (Days & Nights) – 4 on 4 off
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems across the site. You will be working on complex industrial equipment where downtime must be minimised.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site
Diagnose and repair electrical faults quickly and efficiently
Work with PLC systems to identify and resolve control issues
Maintain and repair motors, drives, control panels, and instrumentation
Carry out testing, inspection, and fault finding on electrical systems
Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and site procedures
Collaborate with mechanical teams to resolve cross-functional issues
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance
Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs
Requirements
NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Experience with PLC fault finding and industrial control systems
Strong understanding of electrical maintenance in heavy industry
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
