Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for flexible day to day work in a primary setting?
Do you have experience supporting non-verbal children with additional needs in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2?
Are you patient, adaptable, and confident supporting pupils with SEND?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a SEND primary setting in Darlington that provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for children with additional needs. The school is committed to supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development, encouraging independence and confidence.
The school is looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant on a day to day basis, supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher to support learning, manage behaviour, and provide tailored support to pupils, including those who are non-verbal and require additional communication support.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Experience working within a SEND primary setting
• Experience supporting non-verbal children
• Experience supporting Key Stage 1 / KS1 and Key Stage 2 / KS2
• Strong classroom and behaviour management
• A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
