What skills and experience we're looking for
Topcliffe CofE Academy is seeking an ambitious and inspiring Head of School to join our Ofsted Outstanding academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced school leader to lead the day to day life of our academy, drive high standards, and work alongside the Executive Headteacher to shape the future of our school. The successful candidate will value and support the Christian ethos of the academy, helping to ensure it is reflected in the culture, relationships, and everyday life of the school community. This role also offers the opportunity to retain a meaningful teaching commitment of up to 0.5 FTE, enabling you to lead with credibility and remain closely connected to classroom practice.
As part of Elevate Multi Academy Trust, you will join a supportive, values-led organisation committed to excellence, collaboration and staff development.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Successful senior leadership experience with a proven track record of leading with impact and securing sustained improvement.
• Proven track record of raising standards.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Committed to safeguarding and inclusion.
• Able to inspire staff, pupils and families.
• Knowledge of mixed-age curriculum and high-quality teaching.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Lead the daily running of the academy across all key stages.
• Promote the Christian values and ethos of the school.
• Promote high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour.
• Support strategic school improvement with the Executive Headteacher.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, families, staff and the wider community.
• Lead safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
• Develop and motivate staff through coaching and CPD.
• Maintain strong pupil outcomes and achievement.
