Koala North West is recruiting for a Tiny Teeth Family Support Co-ordinator
Would you like to work for an organisation that makes a difference to the lives of local families and children? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tiny Teeth Family Support Co-ordinator to join our friendly team.
Koala North West have been successfully supporting families for 26 years and we are looking for someone who is passionate about the quality of services available for families with children aged 0-7 years.
Job Title: Tiny Teeth Family Support Co-ordinator
Office Base: Liverpool
Hours: 25 hours per week, times and days to be discussed at interview
Salary: £18,635 (actual)
Purposes of the Job
• To provide direct support to families with children aged 0-7 years, living in Liverpool’s most deprived wards to raise awareness of the importance of good oral health in young children. This will include home visits & community support.
• To recruit, train and support a team of local peer support volunteers who will help parents feel less isolated and to raise awareness of the importance of good oral health in young children
• To support peer support volunteers to get involved with oral health promotion events in the community
• Providing direct support to families with an emphasis on early development, accessing services and empowering parents
• Reduce health inequalities by delivering effective health promotion
• Raise awareness of poor oral health and ways in which it can be prevented
• Promote supervised toothbrushing to improve dental outcomes
• Distribute toothbrushes and fluoride toothpaste to families and communities
• Support parents to access primary dental care
