- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment
- Organize and store kitchen equipment, utensils, and ingredients in designated areas, ensuring easy access and proper inventory management
- Assist kitchen staff with food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients as directed
- Remove and dispose of waste and recyclable materials in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Monitor and maintain kitchen cleanliness during service, including wiping down work surfaces and floors
- Support the kitchen team by restocking supplies and ensuring all necessary items are readily available
- Operate and maintain commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health standards
- Respond promptly to requests from kitchen staff and work collaboratively to meet service demands
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to management immediately
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a kitchen or food service environment (preferred)
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- Physical stamina and capability to lift, carry, and move heavy items regularly
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive work ethic
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
- Basic knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment operation (preferred)
- Food Hygiene Certificate Level 1 or equivalent (preferred)
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings and weekends as required
