Summary

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
• Lead the strategic, operational and clinical management of the Radiotherapy Service and will be responsible for managing and developing services to meet current and future needs and for the delivery of the service in accordance with IR(ME)R, act as IRMER Supervisor under IRMER, Radiotherapy Service specification, ISO 9001/2015 Quality standards, UHCW NHS Trust Clinical Governance framework and NHS England requirements.
• Direct and manage the introduction of new, improved and optimised treatment and planning techniques and service improvements, utilising best available evidence, national guidance and results from research and development.
• Manage the service and resources of the Radiotherapy Department ensuring that services are delivered in a timely manner, in accordance with national and local targets and polices, within budget by trained and competent staff with clear objectives.
• Provide effective professional leadership for all Therapeutic Radiographers within the Trust and taking account of relevant legal, ethical and professional frameworks and maintaining high professional standards.
• Ensure that resources are available as appropriate through service planning.
• Provide external representation for the Radiotherapy service of the Arden Cancer Centre.

• Develop and manage the strategic and operational delivery of the Radiotherapy service.
• Liaise with senior management, clinical consultant, Radiotherapy Physics and other staff to ensure that national cancer targets are achieved.
• Ensure that all Radiotherapy services are provided to a consistently high standard and confirm to the Ionising Radiation (medical Exposure) Regulations (IR(ME)R) 2017 legislation.
• Ensure work within the service is carried out in accordance with established standards and professional codes of conduct, applying professional judgement and experience.
• Provide professional leadership to all Therapeutic Radiographers within University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. Liaise with Group Director of Nursing for Medicine and Associate Director of Allied Health Professionals to promote Therapeutic Radiographers.
• Direct and manage the evaluation of new techniques and modalities to enhance and optimise the effectiveness of cancer treatment and planning in line with evidence and innovation in healthcare. Ensure that new clinical procedures and techniques are safely implemented and national standards are met.
• Manage and support the procurement and introduction into use of new equipment, in particular make decisions concerning acceptability, safety and clinical use from a service delivery perspective.
• Direct, develop and manage the Radiotherapy service within allocated resources and ensure the required resources are available. Liaise with the Oncology Lead Clinician for and senior management on issues or problems related to service provision.
• Manage Radiotherapy budget, providing a cost-effective service within Group targets and UHCW financial strategy
• Manage, supervise and plan the work of the Senior Radiographer team and Consultant Radiographers to ensure that service commitments are met in a timely, accurate and caring manner. through appropriate line management with objective setting and performance reviews. Ensure that the Senior team have the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake individual performance reviews and objective setting for the department
