Summary

Role Accountabilities Patient Care Make appropriate clinical decisions on presenting problems within the scope of competence, seeking advice and support from a mentor or senior colleagues when required. Assess health needs of patients with undifferentiated or undiagnosed conditions under supervision when necessary. Provide screening, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care in line with current protocols. Develop individualised care plans in consultation with patients, aligned with best practice and guidance. Maintain clear, accurate, and contemporaneous medical records. Professional Standards Undertake all duties expected of a GP in primary care, in accordance with regulatory and standard-setting organisations. Deliver evidence-based, patient-centred, and equitable care. Ensure safe prescribing and responsible use of resources. Clinical Leadership & Quality Contribute to quality improvement activities, audits, and learning from significant events. Support development and implementation of evidence-based guidelines. Advocate for patients and help reduce health inequalities. Build Expertise Within the Organisation: Contribute to projects and initiatives that enhance clinical standards and service delivery across the company. Teamwork & Collaboration Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team and with external services. Share knowledge, support colleagues, and manage clinical risk collaboratively. Work Under Mentorship for Professional Development: Engage actively with a designated mentor for advice, support, and structured learning to accelerate competency. Equal Share of Practice Workload: Participate in duty doctor sessions, chronic disease management, and other core responsibilities alongside colleagues. Education & Development Participate in Medical Education: Support the training of medical students and GP trainees through shadowing, teaching, and collaborative learning. Engage in continuing professional development and reflective practice. Share best practice to enhance team capability. Commitment to Continuous Learning: Maintain professional development through CPD activities, reflective practice, and engagement with company initiatives. Community & System Contribution Support public health initiatives and health promotion campaigns. Contribute to understanding of local population health needs. Promote digital and innovative approaches to improve patient care access and quality. Support Specialist Areas: Develop knowledge and contribute to one or two agreed areas of special interest or expertise, building capability within the practice and company.
