Summary
Please refer to the full Job decription and person specification Research Provide effective leadership and management of the research delivery team,providing leadership, recognising and developing the teams, mentoring, coachingand training staff to utilise their strengths to enhance the departments performanceand build organisational capability. Work closely with the Research Matron and Research Team Leaders to ensure targetsare reached. Advise on staffing levels. Plan staffing and work patterns around worktargets. Be flexible and adaptable in fast changing circumstances, leading and supporting staffduring periods of high activity where resources may need to be utilised to maximumefficiency. To work with the Research Matron, Associate and Professional director of R&Ddivisional research leads, other members of the MDT, the R&D ResearchGovernance team and coordinating teams in the planning and provision of clinicalresearch. To liaise with the relevant support services i.e. pharmacy, radiology, outpatients etc.within the trust to facilitate research studies in these areas and to advise on protocolrequirements and time lines in line with sponsor requirements. To ensure that all clinical studies are set up and run in accordance with ICH GCP(Good Clinical Practice). To identify barriers to recruitment and develop action plans to overcome the barriers. Provide oversight and management of the local portfolio. Provide information as required to support budgetary decisions for clinical trials. Contribute and be part of the R&D SLT to lead the delivery and development of theTrust Research and Development Strategy, ensuring that all strategic plans areincorporated into service plans and objectives for staff. Work with the RD&I SLT to develop a culture within the Trust and in allieddepartments in which all staff are research aware or active and delivering high qualityclinical research services. Review and redesign services to meet the needs of clients and enable theDepartment to achieve its key performance indicators.
