Are you passionate about turning data into insight that drives better services and stronger decisions?
Ocean Housing is looking for an experienced and forward‑thinking IT Data Manager (known internally as ICT Data Manager) to lead our data and reporting function at a pivotal time in our organisation’s journey. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape how data is governed, analysed and used across the business — supporting regulatory compliance, performance improvement and evidence‑based decision‑making.
About the Role
As IT Data Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of high‑quality, trusted data and reporting services across the organisation. Managing a small but highly skilled team of Data Analysts, you’ll set standards for data quality, governance, reporting and visualisation while acting as a key partner to senior leaders and service managers.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring our data is accurate, auditable and fit for purpose, championing data governance, and translating complex business needs into meaningful insight that improves outcomes for customers and tenants.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Ocean’s Data & Reporting Service, delivering accurate, timely and well‑designed operational and strategic reports
Line manage and develop two Data Analysts, fostering a professional, customer‑focused and collaborative culture
Prioritise workloads to balance business‑as‑usual reporting, projects and regulatory returns
Act as a trusted data partner to senior leaders and service leads
Embed and champion the organisation’s Data Governance Framework
Set standards for Power BI dashboards, reporting and visual design
Ensure robust data architecture, validation and documentation
Support ICT colleagues and contribute to service resilience
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring significant experience working in a data, analytics or business intelligence environment — ideally within a complex or regulated organisation — and you’ll be confident leading and influencing others.
You’ll need to demonstrate:
Strong SQL expertise and experience working with multiple relational data sources
Advanced Excel and Power BI skills (including data modelling, DAX and visual design)
A deep understanding of data governance, data quality and validation processes
Experience managing or mentoring analysts and delivering a high‑quality reporting service
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data simply and credibly
A proactive, organised approach with the confidence to challenge and improve how data is used
Experience in social housing or working with regulatory reporting is desirable but not essential.
Why Join Ocean Housing?

Influence decision‑making at all levels of the organisation
