Summary
My clients are a very well-established manufacturing company based in Tameside. They supply products to over 100 countries worldwide with Head Offices in the UK, Ireland, Canada and Australia. We are now looking for them a Product Design Engineer based at the site in Tameside
40 hours per week – 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
1 hour – Unpaid Lunch Break.
Salary DOE
Main Purpose of the Role:
The role will be varied covering continuous development of existing products / new designs from prototype to production items. Areas of reasonability to include development of current products and creating new designs for the industry. The candidate will have the ability to work on conceptual designs through prototype, testing, to pre-production samples and final component approval.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
• Using Autodesk Invertor Product Design suite to develop new and updated designs of window shading products
• Prototype and test new concepts
• Liaise with internal departments to create manufacturing and installation instructions
• Create images/renders for catalogue and promotional literature.
Essential Criteria:
• Product Design Degree / or relevant work experience
• Injection moulded part design knowledge
• Education may be substituted with additional relevant experience. Knowledge of drafting standards, GDT.
Desirable Criteria:
• Use of Autodesk Inventor software
• Sheet metal part design
• Extrusion profile design knowledge
The roll will be varied covering continuous development of existing products / new designs from prototype to production items. Areas of reasonability to include development of current products and creating new designs for the industry. The candidate will have the ability to work on conceptual designs through prototype, testing, to pre-production samples and final component approval.
Louvolite work in a 3D environment using the latest software package to generate part, assembly and detailed manufacturing drawings. We also perform various analysis tasks such as FEA and Moldflow.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years CAD experience and knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office package.
Candidates will be team orientated and able to demonstrate their desire the drive the team and the products forward. A keen appetite to learn new skills and develop as an individual along with the business. You will have the ability to deliver tangible results.
