Summary
The States of Guernsey are looking for a Support Worker to join the Learning Disability Outreach Team.
The role supports adults with multiple learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder to live meaningful, independent lives in the community. The team provide community-based work carried out across the island. Staff apply person centred practice and use the Active Support Model, focusing on doing tasks with individuals to build skills, confidence, and choice. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities—such as personal care, medication, cooking, cleaning, shopping, finances, and community access—while promoting dignity, participation, and wellbeing.
All support is delivered with compassion and consistency, reflecting Guernsey’s Care Values. Band 3 staff are required to work independently and alongside colleagues under the guidance of senior staff to provide high‑quality physical and emotional care, and they act as co-key workers in line with service values and quality standards.
A flexible shift pattern is required to meet the needs of service users within their individual care packages. Lone working will be required.
